Bollywood Vs South Indian Films – The Hot Tug Of War

I am going to be impartial in my analysis of Bollywood Vs South Indian films. So, readers, have an open mind, and take the content of this post constructively. We can’t deny Bollywood for decades has been ruling the entertainment industry giving us dream wedding ideas, mushy love stories, entertaining movies in most of the genre that we still love to watch.

Ayushman Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal ushered a new genre of movies, audience has started to love stories they can relate to compared to the typical Bollywood masala where Bollywood heroes are made to look like superheroes aka flawless saviors in the script.

South Indian films have a better stories but they lack in the art department. The audience is willing to ignore visuals that do not contain idyllic locations or stories that portray idealism. They love imperfections because they can relate to it. This is one of the main reasons why superstar brand of movies are no more relatable to the well informed audience.

Not denying they still love the Bollywood superstars regardless of the Boycott culture which has gone too far. But it’s time Bollywood focuses on content because audience is willing accepting better plots with or without the glamour and the typical brand of Bollywood movies.

More than making it about Bollywood vs South Indian films, its time to join hands and make the best of what both they have to offer and bring forth movies that have a better story to offer. Maybe the South Indian films can focus on visuals which has been clearly lacking in most of the films and Bollywood can focus on content.
