Movie time with gals, with your boyfriend, or binge watching chick flicks on the weekend is a different kind of joy. As the drama of chick flicks unfold, you have few joyous moments, a few tear-jerking moments to see bits of your life and emotions in the stories. Aren’t they totally relatable. They show what makes us, us, showing myriad emotions and mentations we experience in any situation.

Tuscany, a quaint countryside in Italy, an ideal vacation to deal with writers block. A middle aged writer, Frances(Diane Lane) depressed from her divorce chooses to buy a Villa in Tuscany and gives her life a second chance; all through all the fears and anxieties of starting again. This is not a movie for the mass audience. For those who enjoy art and like it in its depth relish every moment in this movie.

Away from the buzz of an urban life, Frances dates a few men only to find true love in solitude. The movie has a different take on what we want in life could be more than just finding true love, it’s finding ourselves.

Melaine Smooter (Reese Witherspoon), a Southern woman, now a New York Socialite and engaged to the most eligible bachelor, has some skeletons hidden in her closet. She must return to her home after 7 years to get a divorce from her husband only to realize in the end that she is still in love with him. Meliane gets reminded of where she belongs when she goes back home to find herself and realizes she loves her southern roots, culture, and her husband.

Not your regular corny-tale served to you on a silver platter. This is a story about how two business rivals fall in love with the advent of technology. This 90’s movie is avant garde in many ways where Kathleen Kelly(Meg Ryan), a dainty, sweet woman who owns a small book store, is smitten by Joe Fox( Tom Hanks) through befriending him via the internet.

Neither of them know they are business rivals chatting with each other over the internet. Tom Hanks only comes to know later that it is she who he has been talking to and saves her bookstore from getting destroyed.

The movie is ahead of its times and show how two people with fake identities connect in the virtual world and show their true selves to each other. Rivals in real life, connect deeply in the virtual world which brings them closer.

A couple of love stories fluxed together in this chick flick have lessons to teach us. Beth(Jennifer Anniston) is in a long term relation with Neil(Ben Affleck) who is avoiding marriage with her despite being in a relation with Beth for several years while her younger sister is getting married. Beth and Neil have a stable, happy relation but the want of a ‘proposal’ from Neil haunts her.

Gigi is docile, and a sort of a dumb about how to approach men and relationships. After series of break ups she meets Alex(Justin Long) accidentally who gives her perspective about men and relationships. Janine(Jennifer Connelly) is married to Ben(Bradley Cooper) who has an affair with Anna(Scarlett Johnson). Their marriage breaks because of the affair and her controlling behavior. Mary(Drew Barrymore) is yet to find her true love.

Her client Connor is in love with Anna. Gigi, Beth, and Janine work in the same office and discuss their perspective on relations. The movie gives a different take on why a man commits or won’t commit to a woman. The movie gives a take on how you find true love, true goals of your life, or find yourself in this rigmarole of finding perfect relation instead of just settling in.

Rebecca Bloomwood(Isla Fisher) is an obsessive, compulsive shopaholic who lands in a lot of debt buying clothes and accessories she does not need. She is also a writer for a popular magazine who inspires people to buy what they need. Her life is exact opposite of the ‘Girl In The Green Scarf’ she represents through her posts about saving money. She becomes popular through her posts, about providing valuable insights on saving money.

Her boss Luke usually has her back when the debt collecting agent lands at her office as well as the interview she gives on television spoiling her life experiences. The movie depicts that how we learn from our bad experiences with the love and support of our family and friends. Rebecca’s best friend Suze is helping her curb her shopaholic behavior and helping her improve her life.
